Well boys, need some input.
I got that new board from Phuc yesterday, so Griff and I looked up some parts to for a new pc for me (we're working with Griff's account so I want it under $900ish).
It's been so long since I've built a PC, just looking for some input.

Here's what we put together on NewEgg:

mushkin 4GB DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)  EDIT

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

1x Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200 RPM SATA

EVGA GeForce GTX 260

Antec TPQ-850 850W ATX12V

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Buy dual channel kit instead of 2 single 2GB of RAM. It's actually cheaper and they're matched from the factory.

I have the Kingston set.. it's been running great.

also, keep checking the hardocp forums for hotdeals. I check them daily.

I would suggest getting 2 HDs and RAID 0; also running Vista64. Super fast with RAID 0 and vista ultimate 64-bit.

Looks like a pretty decent rig you got on your wish-list there. Post some 3Dmark numbers when it's done.

w00t for a new PC!

I had to RMA the GTX 260 I bought from NewEgg, and I had to return the P7N mobo I bought open-item from MicroCenter (it was open, but everything was sealed, so i took a chance).

Ended up with a generic Gigabit mobo and still running my ATI 1950XT until my RMA goes through. But, my performance in WAR has increased and 64 bit Vista hasn't given me too many problems (1 BSOD, and the usual problems getting Susie's XP machine to network nicely).

Updates once I get my rig going right.

Grats again J on getting a machine that won't be left in the digital dust for a while.

Parts are ordered.

.....and the waiting begins.
